Whether the need for nursing and rehab is short-term or long-term, the benefits are many. Seniors recovering from injury or accident, or who are moving to our skilled nursing facility long-term, may be unaware of the comfort and convenience we have to offer at Oakwood Estates, just a few of which are highlighted below.
In-House Therapy And Skilled Care
We recently invested in an extensive remodel, designed to improve the quality of care offered at Oakwood Estates Nursing and Rehab. Yes, the remodel included improvements to shared activity and living spaces, but was also designed to expand upon our in-house therapy and skilled care. This goes beyond the speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy offered by most skilled nursing facilities—to an advanced offering of care. Soon, we will be offering in-house cardiac care, infusion services and bedside dialysis.
Daily Medication Management And Medication Reminders
Whether due to accident, injury, high-risk health conditions, or general declining health—daily medication management can be quite overwhelming. When you or your loved one makes the move to Oakwood Estates Nursing and Rehab, you no longer have to worry about which medications to take when, because our nurse will dispense the prescriptions at the appropriate time each day. We will even refill your prescriptions before you run out. Our nursing team will also monitor any changes to your health, and communicate with your physician as needed.
Activities And Socialization With Peers
Many seniors fear that moving to a nursing home will mean the remainder of their days will be spent cooped up in a small room, but this could not be farther from the truth. At Oakwood Estates, we take a holistic approach to health, which includes emotional wellness. We have a daily activity calendar with versatile activities, and we schedule frequent outings to nearby St. Louis attractions. While the transition to living in a nursing home full-time may take some time to adjust, many seniors find their social calendar is busier than when they lived alone.
Improved Safety And Security Found In Our Skilled Nursing Facility
Living alone can be scary, especially as health and mobility decline. Not only is Oakwood Estates a secure facility for seniors, but our staff has the tools and training required to provide the hands-on care your loved one requires.
